We are proud to announce the very first edition of the Frogs Cup, taking place in April at Playin Paris BNF! Participants will enjoy 6 Swiss rounds of premodern games followed by a single-elimination Top 8. Expect a competitive but friendly atmosphere with lots of fun and iconic plays.
Registration through this link: https://www.play-in.com/fr/evenement/12076/frogs-cup-pre-modern
Decklists are to be sent at decklist@play-in.com the day before the event at the latest. Don’t forget to specify the event into the email subject, so that the tournament manager can organize them more easily.
All WCD gold bordered cards are welcome, but proxies will have to stay at home unfortunately. If you are short on some specific cards it may be possible to find them on loan from players within the community, especially for newcomers discovering the format, so feel free to contact us in advance.
Cancellation can be made anytime by writing to contact@play-in.com. The entry fee will be refunded as store credits.
Drinks: the venue has a bar offering beers, softs, coffee, simple foods and snacks throughout the event. It is likely that the party will end up at the Frog & British Library after the tournament for a few extra beers!
Prizes and goodies will be awarded throughout the event, including a raffle and a special prize for the spicier decklist. The Top16 will be awarded store credits based on the number of participants, the Top4 will qualify for the European Premodern Masters in autumn 2026, and the winner will bring back home a stamped foil Spore Frog in addition to the eternal glory.
Important note : even though this event is being held at competitive level, please remember that we are mainly playing Premodern Magic for fun and glory, not for money or stardom. We expect players to behave as gentlemen.women and to respect the atmosphere that define our beloved format. For exemple it is okay to take back an action as long as no other information has been revealed in the meantime, and it is appreciated to let the opponent understand complex play patterns before resolving spells and abilities. In case of disagreement we can take decisions as a last resort but we encourage participants to settle situations in a friendly manner before considering a judge call. To sum it up in one rule : enjoy the day and don’t be a jerk.
